Teaching Philosophy
I will have a blend of direct instruction and guided discovery in my classroom. These will be implemented in my classroom by using learning theories such as Constructivism, 21st Century Skills, and Choice Theory. I plan on using Constructivism by building content knowledge from what we previously learned in class. Choices will be offered readily throughout the semester; students will be able to pick topics that interest them while still learning the content. My classroom will display 21st Century Skills through collaboration, creativity, critical thinking/deductive reasoning, etc.
Altogether, this will help me create a more individualized setting with more engagement. I will be able to better assess my students' progress through these discussions. I believe that students learn by doing: participating allows the students to take control of their learning. I know students need to have their needs met in order to learn. Giving students the choice of how to learn, following their interest, and learning through doing will give them the best possible opportunity to progress.

Classroom Management Philosophy
I believe in Conscious Discipline. Conscious Discipline in simple terms, is the skill of noticing and pointing out of behavior in order to teach students to understand what is expected. I want to pull strategies of Love and Logic, using empathy, respect, and responsibility to enforce my Conscious Discipline. Lastly, the Ripple Effect, rewarding and praise for wanted behaviors, will have a major presence in my classroom. All together, this will create a safe, loving, and understanding learning environment for the students.
